No clipe, somos apresentados a Gloria e Christian, os personages centrais dessa nova ópera rock do Green Day. Se em American Idiot Jimmy era o ícone da revolta contra o caos político, agora temos um casal apaixonado que luta para manter a esperança em uma América hipócrita e corrompida. O vídeo foi dirigido pelo Marc Webb, que já trabalhou com My Chemical Romance (I Don't Love You, Teenagers, Helena etc), The Used (All That I've Got) e Yellowcard (Lights And Sounds, Ocean Avenue etc), entre outros. O resultado ficou super bonito! Vale lembrar que 21 Guns faz parte da trilha sonora do novo Transformers e funciona super bem no conceito do filme.
